1 egg, well beaten
1/2 cup dark molasses
1/2 cup HOT water
2 cups cake flour, sifted
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon grated orange rind
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Combine a beat well the egg, sugar, and molasses. Mix butter into hot water and stir until melted. Add butter mixture to sugar, egg, and molasses. Sift the dry ingredients together and add to other mixture in three parts, beating after each addition only until well blended. Pour into a lightly greased mold. Test Dutch oven and bake at equivalent of 350 degrees for about 50 minutes. Watch coal as gingerbread bakes to ensure and even heat throughout baking time.

Just use the mold and cook at same temp and time for an oven.
