5 Cups of Sugar
1 Cup White KARO Syrup
1 Cup Water
1/2 Tsp Cream of Tartar
4 Egg Whites
2 Cups Chopped Pecans
1 Tsp Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar, syrup, water and cream of tartar until it makes a firm ball when small amount is dropped into a cup of cold water.

Beat egg whites until they form peaks.

With mixer at high speed, slowly pour syrup into egg whites. Beat with mixer, add vanilla, and then beat the divinity by hand until it will stand by teaspoon full.

Fold in pecans, pour into greased pan.

When hardened cut into squares.

I put this recipe in just for Papa! there is no recollection that Grandma actually made this recipe, but we remember that papa liked it.
