1 c white Karo
¾ cup water
1 tsp anise or clover (red or green)

Cook sugar, Karo and water on medium heat until doesn't stick to teeth. Pour in buttered pan and add anise or clover (red or green), stir in pan. Cut as cool in pan.

Interpretation of directions contributed by Morris Branson after a telephone call to Georgia Willey: Cook on medium heat to hard crack stage. Pour in a buttered cookie sheet and stir in anise or cinnamon oil. Stir in green food coloring for anise candy or red food coloring for cinnamon candy. Cut into bite size pieces as soon as candy will hold it's shape without running.
