Directions:
1. Boil chicken till tender. Use a "pretty good bit" of water to make broth.

2. Combine:
cornbread
2 biscuits or 2 slices of light bread, toasted
chopped onions
black pepper
salt to taste
3-4 eggs, beaten
broth

3. Place dressing in baking pan. Place pieces of chicken on top.

4. Bake till done at 400º. Knife will come out clean.

5. If the dressing seems dry, cut slits in it and pour on extra broth.

This is one recipe that Mama always deferred to Mammaw. Just simple flavors here, no fancy seasonings or extra "green stuff." Her secret to moist dressing was the extra broth added after baking.

Of course, Mammaw also would have killed the chicken, plucked, singed, gutted, and cut it up.
