2-1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening or lard
1/2 c. cold water

Apple Pie
4 -5 granny smith apples
4 -5 red apples
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
2 heaping tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
Butter

Directions:

Pastry
Mix flour and salt. Add shortening - cut into small cubes, and work into flour until consistency of breadcrumbs. Add water in small amounts until moist enough for pastry to stick together. Makes top and bottom crust.

Apple Pie
Mix dry ingredients in bowl. Add peeled and sliced apples. Toss together.
Add to pie plate and add 4 dabs of butter on top.
Cover with top pastry

Cook @ 400º for 50ish minutes or until crust starts to brown and apples are tender.
