2 egg whites
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. water (or 1/3 c. for crispy icing)
1 T. white corn syrup
1/2 t. salt
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In double boiler top (or green Pyrex bowl), combine all ingredients ecept vanilla. with electric mixer at high speed, beat about one minute to blend.

Then place over rapidly boiling water, and beat till mixture forms peaks when beater is raised. 7 MINUTES

Remove from boiling water. Add vanilla, continue beating until thick enough to spread.

Generously fills and frosts 8"or 9" layers or frosts 10" sponge, angel, or chiffon cake.
