Cake:
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. (one 303 size can) fruit cocktail

Icing:
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. Pet milk
1 stick butter
chopped pecans

Directions:

Cake:
Mix all ingredients together. DO NOT BEAT. Pour into a 9 x 13 cake pan and bake in 350º oven for 30-40 minutes. Add icing to baked cake and brown in oven.

Icing:
Boil sugar, milk, and butter for 2 minutes. Pour icing over baked cake. Sprinkle cake with chopped pecans or coconut.

I know, I know! But this cake is part of our family history. We loved it the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, even 4th time Mama baked it. I wouldn't mind having some now -- the taste of home and living in the sixties!
