2 cups flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
½ tsp. salt
½ cup cold butter

1 egg, beaten
½ cup milk
Raisins or currents (if desired)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt and mix well. With pastry blender, cut in butter until the mixture resembles a course meal. Stir in raisins or currents. Make a well in the center, add milk and egg, and stir just until combined (do not overmix).
On floured surface press out dough to form a circle ½" thick. Cut into triangles and place onto parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 425ºF until lightly browned (about 12 minutes).
