1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon (baking) soda
3 egg yolks
1 orange rind
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 egg whites-beaten
1 cup walnuts

Sauce for topping cake
3/4 cup sugar
juice of 1/2 lemon
juice of 1/2 orange

Use spring form, with tube center. Grease tin well.

Sauce
Boil and pour on top of cake-after it's baked- but still in the tin.
Sprinkle top of cake with powdered sugar.

No mixing or baking instructions. I recall that she used a nut pick to poke holes in the cake before pouring sauce on top.
