4 c. ripe chokecherries
1 c. Water
1 c. Sugar to 2 c. Chokecherry juice
Juice of lemon to 4 c. Juice

Directions:
Directions:
Simmer chokecherries with water about 20 minutes, stirring, mashing a bit to open cherries. Strain through cheesecloth for afew hours or overnight.
Combine juice, sugar and lemon juice and bring to a boil. Cold pack can in small jars for 10- 20 mins depending on altitude. Add salt to canner water to raise boiling temperature.
