Directions:
In bowl of mixer sprinkle yeast and sugar over warm water. stir gently and let proof (about 10 minutes until it has bubbles on top) Add melted (not hot) butter and beaten egg. Mix with dough hook on low until well blended.
In another large bowl mix together salt, powdered milk, sugar, shortening and flour. Add to yeast mixture. Mix with dough hook until well blended. (This is a very soft, sticky dough.) Continue to mix for about another 5 minutes to knead. Pour into large greased bowl, cover and allow to rise double. About 45 minutes.
Move dough to floured surface and knead for about 3 minutes, tenderly. This is a very soft dough. Add flour as needed to keep it from sticking to the surface. Roll our into a rectangle. If it gets thin and splits just pull the edges back together and fill hole. Cover the dough with cinnamon sugar the with brown sugar. Roll from long sides making a long tube of cough. Cut into 1 inch pieces and place on greased baking sheet, not touching. Allow to sit in warm place and rise for about 30 minutes. Place in preheated 300º oven for about 20 minutes.
Allow to cool slightly and cover with glaze.
