3/4 lb. ripe red-skin plums, approx 3 plums about 2 inches wide
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. all purpose flour
1/3 c. granulated sugar
8 oz. almond paste (3/4 c.)
2 large eggs
Confectioner's sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. Rinse plums, pit them and cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices.
2. Butter and flour a 10-inch cake pan that has a removable rim.
3. Preheat oven 350 F.
4. In a bowl, combine butter, granulated sugar, and almond paste.
5. With a mixer at high speed, beat until mixture is blended, about 2 minutes.
6. Add eggs and beat until fluffy; about 2 to 3 minutes.
7. Add flour, stir to mix then beat until well-blended.
8. Scrape batter into cake pan.
9. Arrange plum slices evenly on batter
10. Bake until cake just begins to pull from pan sides and is golden brown; about 45 minutes.
11. Cool in pan at least 10 minutes.
12. Run a thin-bladed knife between cake and pan rim; remove rim.
13. Dust cake with powdered sugar.
14. Cut into wedges to serve.
