3/4 to 1 lb. of dates
1/2 cup water
Small amount of white sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups rolled oats

1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven 325 F.
2. Boil chopped dates in 1/2 cup of water and add a little white sugar.
3. Beat the butter and add to the sugar and rolled oats.
4. Mix well and spread half the crumbs in a shallow pan (8x8").
5. Spread date mixture on top.
6. Cover with remaining crumbs.
7. Bake for 30 minutes.
