1 c. unsalted butter, softened
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
2 c. flour

powdered sugar
lemon juice & lemon peel
yellow food coloring
red (rasberry preserves)
chocolate chips (melt with butter)
nuts
gold leaf

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add and
beat in vanilla. Mix in flour. Divide dough into four
parts.

Shape into logs on wax paper. Refrigerate until firm
two hours or more.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Slice from log about 1/4
inch thick. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake
until light gold. Cool on wire rack.

If desired, dip half of cookie in chocolate, and sprinkle
with chopped toasted nuts. Or may be frosted or
sandwiched with frosting or preserves.
