Crust: 2- 8"cakes (6-7 layers)
2 cups butter softened
3 cups sugar (or less)
6 eggs
6 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond

Filling:
2 lbs. pitted prunes 1 1/2 cups water
3/4 cup sugar
2 T. cinnamon
2 tsp. cardamom

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

Crusts:
2. Cream butter & sugar in mixer.
3. Add eggs one at a time.
4. Stir in vanilla and almond flavorings.
5. Add flour mixed with baking powder gradually until smooth.
6. Form dough into into 2 rolls.
7. Cut each into 6 equal parts.
8. Roll each part on upside down greased cake pan to 1/4" thickness.
9. Cut around edge with knife.
10. Bake in for 10 to 12 minutes.
11. Cool
12. Remove from pan

13. For the filling, stew pitted prunes on stove with water.
14. Add the rest of the ingredients then process in food processor until smooth.
15. Put warm filling between layers.
16. Once assembled, put in sealable plastic bag and leave on counter for 2 days.
17. Freeze until ready to use.
