1/2 cup melted shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup fancy molasses
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375 F.
2. Beat melted shortening and sugar together.
3. Add 1 egg; beat again.
4. Add molasses.
5. In separate bowl, sift flour, baking soda, ginger and salt.
6. Add to first mixture. Place into fridge to chill for a few minutes.
7. Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
8. Roll balls in white sugar.
9. Place on cookie sheet. Do not press balls down.
10. Bake for 12 minutes or until cracked on top.
