"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Personal Notes:
Granny (my dad's mom) would bring a peach cobbler to the farm when she would visit with PawPaw. We kids would always get so excited! She used lots of sugar, so we tweaked the recipe a bit and now make it a little less sweet and a little more tart.
It is our go-to recipe for unexpected company and when fruit is in season. We try to keep frozen berries or peaches handy to make this easy recipe. It is delicious by itself or served hot with vanilla ice cream.
