2 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 tsp. salt
5 Tbsp. water

Roll dough out and cut into little strips. Peel and cut up 6 medium juicy apples.

Mix together:

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Beginning with apples, alternate layers of pasty and apples, sifting each layer of apples with sugar-cinnamon mixture and dotting with butter, then pour over with syrup.

Syrup (I usually double this part) - Boil together 3 minutes:

1 c. sugar
4 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. water

Bake at 425 for 40 to 45 minutes.
