Bonnie King's Syrup Pie Recipe

1 Cup of syrup
1 Cup of sugar
2 Eggs
Butter as desired
1 Unbaked pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs slightly and add syrup, sugar and butter (see note), mix well. Pour into pie shell.

Bake a regular temperature until top begins to thicken. Stir up with a fork being careful not to stir into the crust.

Bake again and stir again. You may need to do this a third time.

NOTE: You can add a few drops of vanilla to the mixture like Bonnie did. You can also use 1 Tblsp. of flour in the mix if desired.

Our neighbor Ruby Wyatt gave this recipe to our mother. The pie is waxy and a lot like a pecan pie. It was a community favorite at gatherings years ago.
