2 c. flour
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 stick oleo
3 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 ysp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Icing:
1 stick oleo
3 1/2 tsp. cocoa
1/3 c., milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Do not use mixer. Combine flour and sugar in bowl. Mix and bring to boil oleo, water, shortening, and cocoa. Pour over flour and sugar mixture. Add other ingredients and blend together. Pour into a 12 x 18 inch greased and floured pan. Bake 22 minutes at 400. While cake is hot, pour on icing.

Be sure to use 22 minute icing for cake. I like to cook this cake in a jelly roll pan. It is a great sub for brownies and serves at least 2 dozen portions.
