Directions:
Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, shortening, and butter together (similar to a pie crust). Add egg and water. Roll 1/2 of the dough for the bottom of a large cookie sheet. Fill up with apple slices. Sprinkle with cinnamon and 3/4 c. g. sugar. Roll out the rest of crust for the top and bake at 400º F. until apples are fork tender and the top is lightly brown. (34-45 minutes) Frost with a powdered sugar frosting, when warm.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
When we were kids, we couldn't wait for the apple slices to come out of the oven. The smells of them had all 7 of us (kids) running for some, my grandmother (Viola Eikland) also made these. So it's a family recipe that has been handed down. Wendy
