3-4 slices white buttered bread
1/2 Cup sugar
3 Cups milk
3 Eggs
1 Tsp vanilla

Bring milk and sugar to scald. Beat eggs in small bowl. Add a little milk mixture to eggs to temper. Add tempered eggs to the milk.
Put torn bread into a buttered casserole dish. Pour milk mixture over bread. Can add some raisins now. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Place baking dish into a pan with hot water.
Place in preheated 350º oven and bake for about 45 minutes

Not your typical bread pudding but a creamy custardy pudding

You can make larger or smaller amounts. Aunt Lil's rule was 1 cup milk and 1 egg for each piece of bread. I usually added a second piece of bread
