Preheat oven to 350º bake plain 45 minutes - fruit filled 1 hr 10 min 9x13x2 pan

Combine 1 stick soft butter
8 Tbsp sugar
2 eggs
2 Cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
Grease pan and press dough mixture over bottom and up sides of pan
Set aside. You can add canned fruit over crust now if you want


In large bowl blend: 2 8oz packages cream cheese
1 Cup plus 2 Tbsp sugar
5 Tbsp Flour
Set Aside

4 beaten eggs
4 Cups milk
1 Tbsp vanilla
4 Tbsp lemon juice

Mix thoroughly. Slowly pour into cream cheese mixture until well combined.
Pour over crust. Sprinkle top with cinnamon and bake 45 minutes.
Turn off oven and allow to sit in oven for an additional 10-15 with door ajar

You can probably top with canned fruit after it's baked. Growing up we always had the fruit on the bottom because that was the way the bakeries did it.

If you want it to be like the original, drain a can of crushed pineapple and put it on the dough before you add the cheese mixture on top!
