Ingredients: Heat oven to 325º
Mix together and set aside: 2 Cups Flour 1 1/2 Cups Sugar 3 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt
7 eggs separated Beat egg whites in large bowl until stiff peaks form and set aside
Beat together: 7 egg yolks 1 Cup oil 3/4 cup orange juice 1 or 2 tsp grated orange peel (optional)
Mix in flour mixture and beat all until smooth
Gradually fold egg mixture into the beaten egg whites. Folding carefully with rubber spatula just until combined. IMPORTANT - Fold INTO BEATEN EGG WHITES Pour into large ungreased tube pan.

Directions:Bake about 1 hour 15 minutes until top springs back when lightly touched. Immediately turn pan upside down onto a glass bottle or metal funnel. Let hang until cool. About 2-3 hours. Run large bread knife around edges. Remove from pan. Can glaze or frost with citrus icing.
For a change up and to make a bit fancier cut cake into 3 slices and top each layer with lemon curd and or berries between the layers
Aunt Denise got this recipe in home economics class at Hallahan High School for Girls. Not sure who the Sister was who taught the class but I'm always thankful she had it in her lesson plan!
