1 package (16 ounces) ziti pasta, uncooked (or whatever kind you have available)
1 package (8 ounces) shredded mozzarella, divided
1 jar (24 ounces) pasta sauce
1 tub (16 ounces) ricotta cheese
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (14.5 ounces) chicken broth
4 fully cooked chicken Italian sausage links, chopped
fresh basil (optional)

Directions:

1. Spray slow cooker with non-stick spray
2. Place pasta in slow cooker
3. Reserve 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese for later use.
4. Add remaining mozzarella cheese and other remaining ingredients to slow cooker
5. Mix lightly, cover with lid
6. Cook on low for 3-4 hours (or on high for 2-3 hours)
7. Top with reserved mozzarella cheese; cook an additional 10 minutes to melt the cheese
8. Sprinkle with fresh chopped basil, if used, just before serving.
