1 pkg. (6oz.) Strawberry Jell-O
1 pkg unflavored Gelatin
1½ Cup Unsweetened Applesauce
1 Large tub of 2% Cottage Cheese OR 1 pkg Dry Curd Cottage Cheese
1 9oz Bag Red Hot Candies (Cinnamon Imperials)

Directions:
Directions:
Place cottage cheeese in the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Set aside.

In a saucepan, dissolve candy in 2 Cups boiling water.

Add Jell-O and stir until disolved.

Slowly, and while stirring add one pouch (0.25oz) of unflavored gelatin and stir until dissolved.

Pour over the cottage cheese and add applesauce to mixture. Stir all together until mixed.


Refrigerate to set.

Originally made with dry curd cottage cheese but it may not be available. If you cannot find it in the store, simply put cottage cheese (not reduced fat) in a colander and rinse it well to remove the extra dairy and then let it sit for about 10 minutes or so to let the rest of the water drain through.This jello salad goes really well with a baked ham or turkey.
