Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes

1- Position rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 400ºF. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper, spray with cooking spray or lightly oil. Set aside.

2- Using a sharp knife, make about 4 to 5 slits on the salmon. Dab both sides of the salmon dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

3- In a small pan set over medium-low heat the butter, minced garlic, paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper and parsley or basil. Stir for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes. Add lemon juice to the mixture.

4- Brush salmon with the spice mixture, make sure every inch is covered with spice.

5- Bake until cooked through, about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon and your preference to doneness. When the thickest part of the salmon is easily flaked with a fork, the salmon is perfectly cooked.

6- Garnish with lemon slices.
