1 cup water (room temperature or warm)

3 T. butter or olive oil

1 T. sugar

1 tsp. salt

2 ¾ cup bread flour

1½ tsp. yeast (Fresh!)

Add all ingredients in order to your bread machine pan. Choose white bread cycle or basic cycle.

Directions By Hand:

1. Mix all dry ingredients, make a pit in the middle and put the water and butter/oil there.

2. Knead well until all ingredients are well blended and you have a very sticky dough.

3. Let it rise for 1 hour, after the leavening, make your desired bread shape on a dusted with flour tray and let it rise another hour.

4. Bake in preheated oven at 375* for 50 minutes.

This recipe is from Uncle Darrell. When we first both got bread machines this was a favorite basic bread recipe he gave me. This has both bread machine directions and hand made directions.
