8 oz margarine or butter
1 tbsp syrup
2 cups porridge oats
1 cup flour
1 cup brown or white sugar
1 cup desiccated coconut (optional)

You can use muesli in place of the ordinary oats but you may need more flour.

Directions:
Directions:
Place margarine and syrup in pan. Heat until mixture is very hot and frothy. Add to dry ingredients.
Place in tin then into a hot oven (375º - 400ºF) for about 10-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Slice while still warm.

This recipe was given to me by my neighbour when my children were small. It is very easy and I have used it regularly until this day.
