2½ cups flour
2 tsp. soda
½ tsp. salt
1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple
1½ cups sugar
2 large eggs

Directions:

1. Sift together flour, soda, and salt.
2. Beat pineapple, sugar, and eggs.
3. Add flour mixture
4. Bake 30 minutes @ 350º in 9 x 13 inch greased cakepan

TOPPING
Mix together the following and cook 5 minutes on the stove.
1½ cups sugar, 1 stick butter or margarine, a small can evaporated milk,
1 tsp vanilla, 1 cup coconut, ½ cup nuts. Spread icing over hot cake.

Darlyn gave me this recipe many years ago when she and Joe were first married. It was a favorite of Audrey Novosad, Darlyn's mother. I have baked this cake many times over the years. It never fails to get rave reviews!
