Personal Notes:
I found this recipe in a Hotel Del Coronado Cookbook I checked out from the library when we were living in Monterey in 1997. I made it for my mom when she came to visit and we both loved this rich, over the top cake. Since then it has been a go-to recipe when needing an impressive, decadent dessert. I remember seeing the Hotel Del Coronado for the the first time when I visited your dad in San Diego in 1989 when he was attending Surface Warfare School and I flew out for my 21st birthday. It is a gorgeous place I have always wanted to stay at! #bucketlist #gottadream
