Buttermilk Biscuits Recipe

2 c flour
1 tbsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
5 tbsp shortening
1 c buttermilk

Preheat oven to 425.
In large bowl sift flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder.
Use a pastry blender to cut in shortening.
Add buttermilk.
Toss until dough forms.
Knead dough a few times until smooth.
Pat dough to 3/4 inch think and cut into biscuits.
Place biscuits 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 1-15 minutes until golden.
