1c sugar
1/2 c utter, softened
1/4 c shortening
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 c colored sugar
Directions:
Directions:
Mix first 5 ingredients.
Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Heat oven to 400º.
Roll dough to 1/8 inch on flour surface.
Cut with 2 1/2 inch star shape cookie cutter.
Cut slits between 2 points and each cookie just pass center, spread to make 1/4 inch opening.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Sprinkle with colored sugar
Bake 6-8 minutes.
Cool 1 minute.
Fit 2 cookies together.
