Mix in a very large bowl:

2 cups Bran Cereal
2 cups boiling water

In another bowl,cream together:

3 cups white sugar
4 eggs, beaten
1 1/4 cup shortening
1 quart buttermilk

Optional: add raisins

Add creamed mixture to bran, add:

5 cups flour.

Directions:

Mix all together: Fill greased muffin tins. look at 375º for 12-15 minutes. Muffin dough keeps in refrigerator for up to 6 weeks.
