Cook and drain egg noodles according to instructions on the bag.

Melt 80% of the stick of butter, saving 20% for later use.

In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, sugar, cottage cheese, sour cream, and vanilla. Mix well.

Fold in cooked noodles.

Pour mixture into a casserole dish, top with pats of the remaining butter.

Bake for 45-55 min. until top turns golden and tips of the noodles start to brown.

Gaga? Frances Jaffe? Barbara Jaffe?
All the Jaffe's make this Kugel!

Mom used to set aside some of the raw mixture for me to eat while the kugel was baking!

NOTE: I have made this with the yolk-free egg noodles when I couldn't find the regular ones. It's ok...but not the same. It's cheese, eggs, sugar, butter and cream. Are you really making a healthy difference with the yolk free noodles at that point? Just use the real ones. You'll thank me later. ;-)
