1/2 c soft shortening (half butter)
1/2 c peanut butter
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 c sifted flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, butter, peanut butter, sugars and egg until smooth.

Measure and sift together dry ingredients; add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Chill dough.

Roll dough into walnut size balls; place 3 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Flatten cookies with a fork dipped in flour and make a crisscross.

Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes.
