1 c sugar
1 c brown sugar
1 c shortening, part lard keeps cookie soft
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 c nuts
2 1/2 c flour
1/2 c sour cream
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
3 c oatmeal
1 1/2 c raisins
a little nutmeg (1/4-1/2 tsp) and cinnamon (1 tsp) to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, vanilla and sour cream; blend until smooth.

Mix all dry ingredients together and blend well; add to shortening mixture, and mix until well blended.

Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes or until set.
