Ingredients:
Soak 7 lbs (1 gallon sliced) cucumbers in a solution of 1 cup lime and 2 gallons water for 12 hours or over night. Do not use a aluminum container.

Remove cucumbers from lime water and rinse 3 times in cold water. Soak for 3 hours in ice water.

Make syrup of 8 cups vinegar, 8 cups sugar, 1 tbsp salt, and 2 tsp pickling spices. Boil this syrup until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool a little and add cucumbers/ leave for 5 hours or overnight.

Bring cucumber slices and syrup to boil and boil 35 minutes. Fill the jars leaving 1/2 inch head space and process for 10 minutes in a hot water bath.

**I did not cook my cucumbers for 35 minutes/ just until they got good and hot to keep them from getting soft.a
