Plain Pound Cake


Ingredients:

1 pkg. Yellow Cake Mix
1 (3.4oz) pkg. vanilla instant pudding and pie filling
4 large eggs
1 cup water
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 cup sour cream, optional*


For Lemon Pound Cake
substitute:
Lemon Cake Mix
Lemon instant pudding

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350º. Spray 10 inch tube pan or Bundt pan with baking spray.
2. Combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water and oil in large bowl.
3. Beat at low speed for 30 sec. then at medium/high speed for 2 min. Pour into pan.
4. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick in center comes out clean.
5. Cool in pan 25 minutes. Invert onto baking rack and cool completely.
6. Serve plain or make a glaze and drizzle over cake.
 

Fudge Marble Pound Cake

1 pkg. Fudge Marble Cake Mix
1 (3.4 oz) pkg. vanilla instant pudding and pie filling
4 large eggs
1 cup water
⅓ cup vegetable oil

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350º. Prepare two 9x5 inch loaf pans or one tube/Bundt pan.
2. Set aside cocoa powder packet from mix.
3. Combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water and oil in large bowl.
4. Beat at low speed for 30 seconds then at medium/high speed for 2 minutes.
5. Measure 1 cup batter. Place in small bowl. Stir in contents of cocoa packet.
6. Divide the yellow batter between 2 loaf pans or all the batter in one tube pan.
7. Drop scoops of chocolate batter on top of yellow batter in each loaf pan, or
8. Drop scoops of chocolate batter on yellow batter in tube pan.
9. With a knife swirl the chocolate batter into the white batter for a marble effect.
10. For loaf pans bake 45-50 minutes. For tube pan bake 50-60 minutes.
11. Cool in loaf pans 5 minutes. Invert and cool completely on cooling racks.
12. Cool in tube pan 25 minutes. Invert and cool completely on cooling racks.

Adding the pudding to the cake mix makes a moist pound cake that is easy to make.
*Adding one cup of sour cream makes a denser pound cake.
