1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
1 package chocolate chips (milk chocolate)
2 teaspoons soda dissolved in 2 cups applesauce
Directions:
Directions:
Mix soda and applesauce and set aside to let work.
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat. Add applesauce-soda mixture. Then add dry ingredients; stir in chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
