1 doz eggs, hardboiled and peeled

Brine:
1 1/2 c vinegar
1 c water
1 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
6 whole cloves or whole allspice
1 bay leaf
1 onion sliced
pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Boil and peel eggs. Clean and slice onions. Place eggs into a clean jar and top with onions. Place jar into hot water.

Brine:
Mix together all remaining ingredients in a large sauce pan. Bring to a boil and simmer until sugar and salt are dissolved; about 5 minutes; remove spice packet and discard. Pour boiling brine over eggs making sure they are covered.

Refrigerate for several days before trying.

Note:
I place my spices in as tea infuser and remove when the brine is done. Otherwise I think they are too strong.
