5 1/2 c cucumbers, peeled and sliced
1 1/2 T pickling salt
1 c onion, sliced
1 c sugar
1 c white vinegar 5%
1/2 c apple cider vinegar 5%
1/4 c brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp celery seeds
1/8 tsp turmeric

Directions:
Directions:
Place cucumbers in a large bowl; sprinkle with salt. Mix well and chill for 1 1/2 hours. Rinse and drain. Add onions; mix well and pack into sterilized jars. I use pints.

Mix brine ingredients; sugar, vinegars, brown sugar, mustard seeds, celery seeds, and turmeric; bring to a boil. Stir until sugars are dissolved.

Pour brine into packed hot jars. Lid and band jars and place in hot water bath canner. Process for ten minutes; remove to a towel and cover for 24 hours undisturbed.

Store in a cool dry area. Let the pickles set for 6 weeks before trying.

Note: If you like a crisper pickle slice add some pickle crisp to each jar.
