1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup water
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 slightly beaten eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Chocolate Frosting: In med saucepan stir together 1/4 cup butter, 3 TBSP cocoa powder and 3 TBSP buttermilk. Cook and stir until boiling; remove from heat. Beat in 2 1/4 cups sifted powered sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla with mixer on low speed until blended. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1. Great a 15x10x1 inch baking pan. In medium saucepan combine butter, water and cocoa powder. Bring to boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
2. In a large mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, soda, salt and cinnamon. Add eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Beat with mixer on low to medium speed. Add cocoa mixture and beat until blended. Pour batter into prepared pan
3. Bake at 375 x 20 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched.
4. Immediately pour hot chocolate frosting over warm cake; spread evenly. Completely cool cake. Cut into squares.

This photo was taken the day after Uncle Joes funeral. The monks came and did a ceremony and chanted to help his soul pass to the other side. It was really beautiful.
