Ingredients:  
1 bag shredded hash browns (usually found near eggs in grocery store)
1/2 cup melted butter
1 (10 oz) can cream chicken or celery soup
1 c sour cream
1/2 c finely chopped onion
1 c shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 tsp pepper

Topping (optional)
Corn flakes cereal
butter... approx 1/2 stick

* I also like to add bell pepper and diced ham to this dish.

Preheat oven to 350
Mix all ingredients and place in a greased 9 x 13 inch casserole dish. Melt the butter for topping and mix with a cup of cornflakes and spread over casserole.
Bake 45-50 min or until hot and bubbly.
