2 egg whites, at room temperature
1 cup sugar
3 T. water
3 T. white Karo syrup
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, water, egg whites, corn syrup, cream of tartar and salt. Beat with handheld electric mixer at low speed for about 1 minute. Put mixture in top pan of double boiler. Place over the boiling water in bottom pan, making sure the boiling water does not touch the bottom of the top pan. Beat constantly on high speed with electric mixer for 7 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla with a spatula, and cool. Spread over baked and cooled cake.
