2 c. white vinegar
1 c. coarse canning salt
small cucumbers
Fresh dill
Garlic cloves
Alum powder

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Pack small cucumbers into clean hot sterilized jars. Place a head of dill and a garlic clove into each jar. If you like crisp pickles, which we do, I usually add 1/2 tsp.alum powder to each jar.

In a large pot, boil together the water, vinegar and salt. Boil until clear before adding to jars. Pour the boiling brine over cucumbers and make sure there are no trapped air bubbles; wipe the rims with a clean dry cloth and top with a lid that has been sterilized and dried. Place rings on jars and tighten as much as possible. Place jars in oven for 10 minutes. Remove and allow to cool away from any drafts. Label and store. They will be ready to eat in abou 4 weeks.
