1 c sugar
½ c water

Boil till it threads.

2nd part

2 c sugar
2 c lily white syrup
½ c water

Cook till it crackles hard in water

Add the 1st Part to the beaten whites of 4 eggs. Beat well. Then add the 2nd part. Continue beating until thick. All 1 tsp vanilla and 1 c nuts. Beat. Place on buttered plate and cool. Cut into squares.

Laureen remembers that Mom always made it at Valentines Day with a red cinnamon heart on each piece of fudge. Enough for us and the neighbors.
