6 c milk
1 c long-grained white rice, not instant
3 beaten egg yolks
1/2 c raisins
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c sugar
1 c whipping cream

Directions:
Directions:
In a Dutch oven; combine, rice and milk; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 55 minutes.

Combine; beaten egg yolks, cream, vanilla, salt and sugar; mix together and add to rice mixture. Stirring constantly until thickened. Add raisins.

Serve warm sprinkled with cinnamon.

I also like a dash of nutmeg.

Grandma "O", was an excellent German cook who could make something delicious out of nothing. Hired hands loved coming to help on the farm because they knew there would be a wonderful dinner served.
