2 c. water (boiling)
2 c. diced potatoes
1/2 c. sliced carrots
1/2 c. sliced celery
1/4 c. diced onion
1 1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper

white sauce:
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 c. cubed cooked ham

Directions:
Directions:
Put all ingredients except for white sauce ingredients into covered dutch oven. Simmer together for 10 minutes.

For white sauce:
Melt butter, stir in flour to make paste. Slowly add milk, stir constantly until milk is thickened. Add cheese, stir until melted. Add ham and undrained vegetables. Heat slowly - DO NOT BOIL.
