10 cups basil leaves
1¾ cup pine nuts
2 tablespoons butter
5 cloves garlic chopped
¼ cup olive oil
2 cups grated Romano cheese
¾ teaspoon salt

Directions:

Wash basil leaves and place in the food processor. Add all other ingredients. Blend until it is a paste.

Serve warm over your favorite pasta! Or on tomatoes and Burrata, or grilled chicken, or almost anything!

Over the years I've reduced the butter and oil to make it less fattening, but you can add more if you like it richer. Also, you can substitute raw pistachio nuts for the pine nuts. Some people make it with walnuts or even almonds, but I think they are too hard.
